My First Week at ETC, Pittsburgh

Terminator in the ETC!

Well, the first week of my 3rd semester at the ETC has gone by and I managed to not get terminated. The T-800 that guards the elevators on my floor has so far let me pass, but it makes me a little nervous…

The project I am working on is called ‘Fashion Designer’. It will be a program that lets a guest design and then apply clothes on a 3D model. What makes it interesting is that the cloth has real-time physics, so, for instance, if you cut a piece of cloth of the bottom of a shirt, the piece you’ve cut away falls to the floor. I wil lbe designing and creating the 3D models as far as I know.
Settling in to the condo and finding my way around Pittsburgh decently.
If you get a chance to see Pan’s Labarynth, do! It’s one of the best movies I’ve seen this year!

Back in the Saddle, or the Pickle…?

Hey, looking for the right metaphor. Here in Heintz-land, in Pittsburgh, so not sure what the apt metaphor is, really. Anyway, I am starting classes tomorrow. Today just going to get oriented to the new building and do stuff like get my student ID, etc. Exciting stuff. I promise to be a little more zealous with the posts now that I will be staring at a monitor again for 10 hours a day.Happy Monday, everyone!
